Open Call for Book Chapters

Cultural Crossroads: Immigrant Literature and the Reinterpretation of American Values

Editor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sezen Ismail

About the Book

This edited volume, Cultural Crossroads: Immigrant Literature and the Reinterpretation of American Values, brings together chapters authored by SUSI Scholars who participated in the Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) for Global Scholars on Contemporary American Literature at the University of Montana in 2025.

The book aims to create a multiplier effect of the SUSI program — extending the insights, reflections, and academic discussions we shared into a lasting scholarly contribution. It will explore how contemporary immigrant fiction reimagines, contests, and reshapes core American values such as freedom, democracy, equality, belonging, and opportunity.
