BUP is proud to announce the publication of the book "Historiography Between the Lines: The Ottoman Image in Macedonian History Books" by Shener Billali.
The book “Historiography Between the Lines: The Ottoman Image in Macedonian History Books” by Prof. Shener Billali examines how Macedonian history textbooks depict the Ottoman Empire’s legacy, highlighting its role in shaping national identity and cultural memory. This book addresses challenges in presenting balanced narratives and explores how historical portrayals affect intercultural understanding and historical reconciliation.
Shener Bilalli was born on 29.04.1980 in Tetovo, North Macedonia. He completed his primary and high school education in his birthplace. He completed his university and master's degree in Ankara and completed his doctorate at the National History Institute in Skopje, Northern Macedonia. Şener Bilalli served in various administrative and academic positions at the International Balkan University and carried out significant scientific and academic studies.
