Тhe present book poses a significant question: how does the media environment affect adolescents? It then provides a comprehensive, qualified, and qualitative analysis to explore the effects of violence and pornography in the media, particularly on television, on adolescents. The research reveals that it is crucial to encourage adolescents to cultivate a critical perspective towards the display of violence and pornography on television, which is a challenging task that requires a coordinated effort from education, family, school, and the media, especially television. This study is particularly noteworthy because it represents the first research of its kind conducted in the Republic of Macedonia through an in-depth analysis of adolescents' attitudes towards violence and pornography on television. The research suggests that adolescents possess the capacity to ponder the impact of media, but they may lack sufficient knowledge or experience to comprehend the subtle messages present in violent and pornographic content. To safeguard young people, it is essential to include media literacy in their education so that they can acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to make informed choices that lead to a healthy and fulfilling adolescence. In this regard, fostering a critical attitude towards media content is one of the most effective ways to protect adolescents.
