Balkan University Press Launches the Journal of Balkan Architecture

Balkan University Press is pleased to announce the launch of the Journal of Balkan Architecture, welcoming it into our esteemed Balkan Journals collection.

The primary aim of the Journal of Balkan Architecture (JBA) is to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between academia and industry, bridging the gap between theoretical insights and practical applications in the field of architecture. Leveraging the latest technologies and design trends, the journal provides a visually engaging and immersive reading experience, appealing to a contemporary audience of architects, researchers, and design professionals. By integrating scientific research papers, artistic contributions, and project presentations, the journal offers a comprehensive yet well-structured platform for exploring innovative approaches and cutting-edge topics in Balkan architecture. Through this multifaceted approach, the journal seeks to promote dialogue, inspire creativity, and contribute to the advancement of architectural knowledge and practice.

The aim and scope of scientific research papers is to invite scientific contributions across diverse architectural disciplines, emphasizing theoretical, critical, generative, management, and documentary research methodologies. Our publication aims to advance understanding and application in key domains such as architectural design and composition, interior architecture and spatial design, cultural heritage and architecture, historical preservation and adaptive reuse, urban planning and landscape architecture, building materials and construction technologies, sustainable architecture and design, architectural and urban criticism, digital technologies and architectural practices, architectural education and pedagogy, and interdisciplinary approaches.

The aim and scope of artistic papers is to welcome creative contributions in various forms within architecture, focusing on disciplines such as architectural installations, digital architecture and media arts, sculptural forms in architecture, performance and the built environment, photography and architectural narratives, painting and architectural representation, architectural drawings as art, street art and urban architecture, cinematic architecture, and the intersections of poetry, philosophy, psychology, sociology, and architecture. The fields explored within this category include realistic/objective, utopic, subjective, and imaginative perspectives.

The aim and scope of project presentations is to showcase and discuss built projects and student projects (subject projects, bachelor's, master's, workshops) within architecture. This category highlights the practical application of architectural theories and concepts through presentations of completed buildings and architectural designs developed by students at various educational levels. The journal seeks to provide a platform for architects, students, and educators to share their innovative approaches, methodologies, and outcomes in architectural practice and education.
